The European Union will hold an online seminar on EU production standards for agri-food products on 19-20 April 2021.
Discover Europe’s high food safety and quality standards, understand the EU agri-food system and learn more about how to use the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement
(EPA).
Representatives of the Japanese authorities, major retailers and distributors, HoReCa sector, consumer organisations as well as agri-food media representatives are invited to join Her Excellency Ms Patricia Flor (EU Ambassador to Japan), Mr Osawa Makoto (Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), Mr Wolfgang Burtscher (Director General for Agriculture and Rural Development, European Commission), Mr John Clarke (Director, International Relations, Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development, European Commission), and a panel of EU experts for interactive discussions.
The online seminar will cover the following product categories:
- dairy and cheese
- wine and spirits and beers
- meat (beef, pork, poultry)
- processed products, incl. confectionery (chocolate, biscuits)
- olive oil
- fruits and vegetables
- geographical Indications (GI) and organic products
